The Importance of Personalization...

Handwritten Notes, Personalized Demo Calls, Sending Gifts...

This week's issue is about personalization. I will share why it is crucial and how we can differentiate ourselves using personalization tactics.

Online Marketing

Do you know how many emails you receive approximately per day? Just guess...

And also think about the ones you open.

According to the articles in different sources(1,2), we receive more than 100 emails per day, including promotions and daily conversations with %20-%30 opening rates. And the number of emails might increase in the coming years. So the question is, how can we get the attention of recipients? Are there any alternative ways?

To increase reply rates, we might use personalized subject lines, emojis, or attached personalized images. But still, are there any alternative ways?

IMO, the alternative method is sending a postcard to the recipient's postal address. Just think, how many postcards do you receive per day? Please choose the option, and I will share the results in the next issue.

And if you include your handwritten note with your website's QR code, that will be ten over 10. And some solutions automate the handwritten process, as you can see from the link.

I would like to hear your comments related to this part.

Have you ever tried handwritten notes software? If yes, how was your experience?

Online Sales

For most software companies, preparing for demo calls is critical. Before the call, you need to stalk the demo attendee and have some insights about their potential questions.

Sometimes, we must remember they are also checking our competitors and scheduling a call with them if they are high-potential clients.

So, we should ask how we can differentiate ourselves again. First, we need to join our competitors' demo calls to understand their processes. 🕵️‍♂️🕵️‍♂️

And then, we can add personalized points to our process that others do not provide. We can log in to demo attendees' websites/software - if it is possible - and show how our solution might work for them by using their dashboards. During demo calls, we need to show how they can use our solution on their platform. So this might wow the demo attendee and trigger them to share the recording of the call with their teammates.

I like the example Steli Efti shared in his "Product Demos That Sell" book about demo personalization for CRM selling.

Business Development

Can you estimate the market size of corporate gifting in the USA in 2021? It's more than 240 billion dollars, according to the article on Forbes. Of course, the pandemic has increased this number, but it's still huge.

And one of the well-known companies in the gifting domain, Sendoso, raised 100 million dollars last year.

We all know gifting increases customer loyalty and is much cheaper than acquiring a new customer. We can send gifts to our VIP customers and companies when they celebrate something on their side, such as an investment, acquisition, etc. This might enable them to renew the contract.

All we need to do is, start following our customers' pages on LinkedIn and send a connection request to the related person. This is for customer success teams. :)

That's all for this week, and please share your experience related to personalization if you have any by leaving comments below.
